Happy 2020!
I know we’re really into it now, but I’m just getting to writing this, so there you go.
I’ve been playing out with a new trio starting last fall. It has been a really awesome experience for me- it’s great to have a band feel to what I’m doing after a few years of playing solo a lot.
These guys are really terrific. Nothing gets me so charged up as having some people around who are also really enthusiastic. John Bunzli, a songwriter friend of mine from way back, is playing guitar, and Derek Ray Kirkman, who I just met last year, is playing upright bass. The two of them are really fun to hang with and bring so much to the songs we’re playing.
We’ve been out for a few shows to get out legs under us, and I’m really looking forward to more as the year gets going. The next time you can see the trio is March 19 at the Jamestown Mercantile in Jamestown, CO. Click on the shows link or follow me on Facebook to keep up with the latest show news.
In other news, the next record is actually finished. Though I’ve been playing most of these songs live for a while, I’m really excited to have you hear them in a more polished studio version.
