We spent a lot of time in June staring at the windshield. That’s a lot of time to think, or not. Also, cellphones all have cameras on them now (in case you weren’t aware of that). So I was scrolling through all the pictures and video of our travels and I realized I had a whole lot of clips of roads. Miles of them, as it were.
So, I started stitching them together- and suddenly, there was a video for “This Road Leads to You” from Dirt & Heartache.
Just for fun, if you can name all nine states in that video, put a comment with your answer below and I’ll send you some free stuff. CD, stickers, whatever.
In other news, yesterday (after making the video) I was over at the studio tracking the VERY LAST INSTRUMENT for the new record. My friend and former neighbor Brian (I moved about a half mile) came over and threw down some awesome dobro lines for one of the songs. He and I spent a fair amount of time playing on my old front porch, and it was great to hang with him for a bit and have him play on this project.
Now there are only a few little vocal parts to finish. Ssssooooooooooooooooo close.
So very close.
If you haven’t already, click one of the social media buttons to your right to stay in touch. Heck, click them all! Add yourself to the mailing list and I’ll send you a free song. There will be more updates coming as this record winds its way out into the world. And if you want to do something (for free) that really helps indy musicians a lot, share this post, or share other posts and music on your social media feeds. If not for me, then do it for other musicians and artists you really like. In this rather strange modern age, it actually makes a difference every time you share stuff- and costs you nothing. So win win!
