Winter is a time for hibernation, staying still, contemplating.
Or skiing…
Or songwriting…
My friend David Coile sets himself a challenge in January to write a song every day. For those of you who don’t know, that’s one heck of an output. I do a group challenge every few months where we write a song a day for a week- I can’t really imagine sustaining the output for a month. But David does, and I think that’s super cool of him, and even braver, he puts all the songs up on the internet.
Now that’s really brave.
He does a lot of co-writes to help him through it, and I love seeing all the collaborations. This year he was kind enough to ask me to join in for one of the co-writes. We had a great time on Sunday shooting the breeze and then getting to work on a song. I don’t have much experience at all co-writing, so it was an interesting experience for me to do that, and David is such a great guy that you can’t help but enjoy yourself.
So a salute to David, who is almost to the end of the month (check out his youtube for all the vids). That’s impressive. And thanks for a great time!
Here’s the song David and I did.
