Song School starts tomorrow!
It’s pretty much camp for big kids. Lots of people actually camp on the festival grounds, there’s food, singing, a river, and sessions. Sessions on writing, singing, playing, the music business. Pretty cool. And, as it happens, Song School is right here in Lyons, CO the week before the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival– making it a week long orgy of music. Also, I don’t have to camp, ’cause I live here.
This morning, at the Boulder Farmer’s Market, there was a songwriter showcase for artists coming in for song school. Hosted by Boulder musician Jenn Cleary, it was a great preview of the week and a chance for people to meet and reconnect. I played my set early on and stayed for most of the morning to hear others performers. Great variety and a LOT of talent.
A great way to start a week of camp.
