And on Mondays...

We do guitar shit.

I played a solo set at Spirit Hound Distillers here in town Sunday before last as part of a fundraiser for the folks impacted by the fire in Nederland. We had a great time and I really enjoyed all the other musicians who came out to support this cause. And thanks to all the folks who came to eat, drink, and donate. We see you and appreciate you.

Mondays we take care of business. In addition to returning a few emails, I was messing with a guitar rig. I don't play electric guitars much anymore, but sometimes you have to scratch that itch. So I pulled apart a small pedalboard and am rebuilding it for the electric guitar. I've had bigger pedal rigs over the yeas, but these days I'm mostly interested in how small and compact I can make something and still have it do what I want. My acoustic rig runs on a Voodoo Lab Dingbat Tiny- which I love for it's compact size and ease of use. It also has an extra power out which is great for the Grace Audio Alix that is my main DI/signal processor.

I had a Pedal Train Nano lying around and there is something coming up where I might sling an electric guitar around in public (stay tuned), so I figured I would set up a mini board for the electric. I mostly have what I needed (though that is never the same as what I want!). The only thing I need to add is a new overdrive pedal- to get the whole chain on the Nano I needed something small- so I think a mini-TubeScreamer will do it. (thanks to Jake at Sweetwater and I hope you are well- I appreciate all the texts and calls).

Yeah, so now I know why people go crazy for the TubeScreamer. Man that is an awesome sound in a very small package. It's been really fun to mess with electric guitar sounds. They are fun.

If you're in central Wyoming  I'll see you later this month at Blacktooth in Casper and then the next night I'm at Gilded Goat in Ft. Collins. Both are solo gigs. Looking forward to seeing you all.
