I hate Halloween.
Really, it sucks. For two reasons.
One, as a committed ex-drinker, Halloween is like some of the other big holidays (New Years, St. Pattys). It's amateur night. Everyone thinks they're going big, but for us ex-pros, if you weren't drinking like that on any random Tuesday, you weren't my kind of drinker. So I find all the party noise annoying.
Two, and this one is much more personal, it's hard enough for me to go day to day in my own skin. This whole costume thing never worked for me. I'm having a rough enough time just being me, so trying to be someone else just feels like a whole lot of extra work.
But that's just me. If you dig Halloween, I hope you had a great time and enjoyed yourself in a safe and responsible manner. And if you have kids, you gotta play the game, and I get that. We did Halloween big for many years, even won a costume contest a few times. This year, I was glad to watch a show in the basement with all the lights off (where we live there are never any trick-or-treaters anyway- the hill's too big).
So I'm glad it's November. We're going back to Wyoming for a one-nighter in Sheridan this month. If you're in Northern WY, hope to see you there.
Then get ready to rock the Alt-country Xmas shows- we're getting together with our friends in All Through The Night and At The Watertower to bring you a night of downbeat holiday cheer. And we're doing it twice!
Dec. 2 we're at the Skylark in Denver for their Western Wendesday, and Dec. 18 we're at Swing Station in Ft. Collins. It's going to be a great night wherever you catch us.
Here's a question- should I do some sort of holiday sale? What would you like to see as a merch deal? Something new? If you read this far, I'd really appreciate knowing what you're in to. Leave a comment, shoot me a note, or hit me up on social media.
See you out there and be safe-
